Cocaine, guns and cash seized in Hamilton drug investigation
HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) - Hamilton Police officers seized 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, guns and cash in a major drug investigation. They say John Ingram, 55, will face federal charges in this investigation.
Police stopped Ingram late Monday evening in Hamilton. That stop led to the search of two homes and a business. That's where police found the cocaine, five guns and nearly $20,000 cash. Some meth was also found.
Police say Ingram has a criminal history that includes drugs, weapons and violence. His story along with the quantity of drugs and guns led to the federal charges. The U.S. Attorney will determine exactly what charges Ingram will face.
"Locally, I think this is as big as it gets. He's a major player, has been. The chief said the cocaine would have been worth at least $50,000 on the street.
When asked if cocaine is making a resurgence, the chief said, "cocaine's never left, it's always been part of the drug scene, it continues to be part of that".
Lauren Watts was also arrested but Chief Bucheit said he didn't know the extent of her role.
