Fairborn family’s dream becomes a reality with the help of Habitat for Humanity
FAIRBORN, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – One local woman is enjoying the experience of a lifetime as a first-time homeowner.
Kristina Day is building her new house in Fairborn with the help of Women Building Together, a Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton program.
“I’m truly blessed, excited, overwhelmed,” said Day.
Day said she has learned all about maintaining and owning a home in the time leading up to the build.
“I’ve learned all kinds of things in the classes, home maintenance, budgeting, those kinds of things,” said Day.
Day held back tears as she explained how her children are excited to finally have a place to call their own.
“I was told for years that this existed and I always thought somebody else deserved it more than we did,” said Day. “So, it’s my turn.”
The build kicked off on Sept. 23, but will take about four months to complete.
