Error causes thousands of Montgomery County residents to get unexpected tax bill
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – FOX 45 wants Montgomery County residents to be aware of a consumer alert relating to your property tax documents.
Thousands of homeowners got an envelope in the main, which contained an unexpected tax bill.
County Treasurer Carolyn Rice said a computer error sent property tax bills to about 4,000 households, and they started arriving in the mail last week.
The office started getting phone calls from worried owners, but said that residents should disregard the notice.
Rice said she regrets the mix up.
Anyone concerned about getting a property tax bill can call the Treasurer’s Office.
