Homeowner robbed and shot outside his house in Harrison Township
HARRISON TWP., Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office are looking for the gunman they say robbed an elderly man and then shot him.
It happened around 8:40 Wednesday night in the 2400 block of Wheeler Avenue.
Investigators say an elderly black male was robbed by a younger black male for his wallet and cellphone. Deputies say there was a struggle and the victim was shot in his left leg and right hand, he was taken to a local hospital where he's said to have non-life threatening injuries. FOX 45 has learned the man shot is Dwight Martin, who is in his 60s. According to Martin's son, his father was out in front of his house getting something from his car when the suspect walked up to him and demanded he give him his belongings. Martin is listed in good condition at the hospital.
"It pisses me off really, I mean I'm really upset about it," Terry Molden said.
Deputies brought in a K-9 to search the scene for the suspect but nothing was found.
