Dayton pastor and wife found guilty in the death of toddler foster child

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A Dayton pastor and his wife will be sentenced next month after being found guilty in the death of their foster son, 2-year-old Stanley Thomas.

Thomas died on November 18, 2015 after being taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. Emergency workers were called to King of Glory Church on Genesee Avenue in Dayton after Stanley was found not breathing. During the toddler's autopsy, it was found that he had several injuries including bruises, scars and a large burn.

Torace D. Weaver, 38, and Shureka Weaver, 40, were Stanley's foster parents and told authorities he'd fallen from a table. A jury found Torace Weaver guilty of murder, endangering children, involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide and felonious assault. His wife, Shureka Weaver was found guilty of endangering children.

The couple will be sentenced on May 5.
