Elderly woman killed in Trotwood house fire identified
UPDATE: The Montgomery County Coroner's office has identified a woman killed in a house fire Tuesday morning in Trotwood.
The victim, who lived at the home, was Mary McCaslin, 85. According to the coroner's officer, her cause of death has not been determined.
TROTWOOD, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - The State Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate a fire that killed one person Tuesday morning in Trotwood.
Firefighters were called to the home in the 4000 block of Glenncross Drive just before 7:00 a.m.
Chief Rick Haacke with the Trotwood Fire Department said when crews got inside the home, they found a person who did not survive. The victim has not yet been identified. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office has been called to the scene.
It's unclear what caused the fire or where it started. Investigators are working at this time to get those questions answered, "Nothing looks suspicious at this time," Chief Haacke said. The home did have working smoke detectors.
Damage to the home is in the range of $30,000, Chief Haacke said.
