Cedarville forum highlights the difference between fake news and actual accomplishments
CEDARVILLE, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Fake news has become a hot topic in the year since President Donald Trump took office, and Cedarville University students got a deeper understanding of the difference between the fake stories and actual accomplishments Tuesday night.
Cedarville's Center for Political Students, the Cedarville American Enterprise Institute chapter and Pi Sigma Alpha, the student political organization, invited local media personalities to help explain the difference. FOX 45's Erik Elken served as moderator, and said, “The media is under real scrutiny on a daily basis for using a ‘Fake News’ umbrella. So little trust in the media makes it difficult to get important stories out to an audience without a stigma attached. How do we, as media, maintain or rebuild that trust with the consumer? There are clear biases at the national level, but we can’t let some of those stigmas trickle down to a point where the consumer doesn’t trust any form of media.”
They picked Tuesday as their date due specifically so it would be near President Trump's one year anniversary in office.
